Say Welcome to my Little Angel

Thu Dec 9, 2010: Today is the day my little angel entered into this BAD world to make my family happy. Around 4.00 PM Doctor rushed to Operation room, since Normal delivery doesn't happened he opted for sigerian, everything went smooth after that. I received a call from family at 5.00 PM (BTW I was in Pune & Wife in Athani [Belgaum Dist]) and that was Baby Girl!!! Yuppeeee !!!! I expected a baby girl and God listened to me. ThanQ God, always be there for me !!!!..... I heard the voice of baby over phone, she was crying loudly, I couldn't hold my emotions, my eyes got filled with water, I experienced a totally new feeling and obviously I enjoyed it. Parallelly my respect towards womanhood increased, the pain a woman sustain during delivery is hard to digest(for husband). I decided to travel to Athani, my eyes very much excited to see baby, my hands very much eager to hold n hug baby. Ohhhhh!!!! Damn !!! what a feeling, really, what a feeling !!!! The one who experienced it in their life only can understand such things, others just enjoy the blog and continue reading !!!

Fri Dec 10, 2010: I reached the destination, now, as per our tradition I should not rush to see the baby immediately, there is a procedure for that. First we have to fix a GOOD time to see the baby according to baby's Birth time & Raashi. Around 11.00 AM I stepped towards Hospital, on the way I purchased a small(very small actually) golden ring to present it to my Angel. I entered the hospital, entered the ward, entered the room, finally got to see my baby, she started starring at me, she is so tender and soft, softer than sponge!! softer than cream!! OMG!!! my heartbeat fastened, even I afraid to take the baby in my hands, I afraid baby might slip from my hand, baby's neck/legs/hands might twist if I doesnt hold properly. I called my baby as Chikku. Slowly, carefully I took baby in my hand and hugged slightly. That was nice and memorable moment, the whole day n night Chikku's face stayed infront of my sight.

Sat Dec 11, 2010: I started distributing sweets(Jalebi) among friends and family. Here, we usually distribute Jalebi if baby is girl and Pedha for baby boy. I was busy in distributing sweets whole day, but there in hospital Chikku cried non-stop whole day. Evening we took her to Child hospital, that hospital is beside maternity hospital only, hardly 2 minute walk. Chikku suffering from fever, we admitted her in that hospital. Doctor suggested Saline, pierced needle in her tiny hands. I couldn't see that and I started crying along with Chikku. I and my Mother stayed back in hospital and whole night sat beside her. She slept for few hours but around 1.30AM she woke up and started crying, her lips so dried, she might be hungry, but her mother(my wife, Prabha :-P) unable to feed her as she is not in same hospital, also she cant walk & take stairs as she undergone sigerian. Somehow we managed to feed Chikku and she jumped to sleep. Again Chikku woke up at 3.00AM and 5.30AM and started crying, everytime she cried I have to knock Maternity hospital. I couldn't hold my tears by seeing all these. Around 6.30AM Doctor visited Chikku and confirmed less fever. We requested Doctor to remove Saline for few hours, "we are taking the baby to her mother, will come back once we feed the baby". But the Doctor denied for that, seems he took our words in different way, he might have thought that we are going to consult another Doctor. So he asked us to get discharged from his hospital. We requested him that baby is crying so much and her mother cant walk as she undergone sigerian. Then Doctor got convinced and permitted to take the baby. Chikku felt happy in her mother's arm and slipped to sleep after feeding.

Sun Dec 12, 2010: Around 11.00AM we took back Chikku to hospital and continued the treatment. Doctor observed that the Chikku's body turned to pale yellow color. He suspected Jaundice and suggested blood test to be done. Ohh God!!! not again !!! they again pierced needle n took blood. Chikku cried louder and louder this time. I moved out of the room to control my tears. There in Maternity hospital, Prabha is not aware of all these type of treatments on Chikku. She is very much upset and that is obvious. Doctor had look at blood test report and confirmed Jaundice. Around 8.30 PM Chikku shifted to special room for "Photo Therapy" (Photo Therapy is exposing baby's body to specific wavelengths of light using lasers, light-emitting diodes, fluorescent lamps, dichroic lamps or very bright, full-spectrum light). We kept Chikku under photo rays without a single cloth on her body. During this winter we shew even after wearing warm clothes, think of Chikku's condition, she is lying on bed with bare body!!! She started shewering and cried for 2-3 hrs. Doctor said she will take some time to adjust. Today night too we struggled to feed her. Ohh God!!! where are you? are you on vacatoin?? why you are doing this to my Kid??? are you listening GOD????

Mon Dec 13, 2010: Yuppeeee!!! Seems GOD is back on his work. He might have seen my call in "Missed call list" :-) Chikku felt somewhat better, Doctor asked us to shift Prabha to Chikku's room. Now Prabha can able to walk slowly, so we discharged Prabha from Materinity hospital and shifted her to Chikku's room. A big smile on Prabha's face. Both baby and mother felt very much happy. We observed red spots, pimple like structures all over Chikku's body. Nurse ruptured those with a needle and applied ointment. Obviously Chikku cried but thank GOD, this was the last needle which touched Chikku's body. Doctor said the photo therapy should be continued for another 3-4 days.

Thu Dec 16, 2010: Chikku recovered from Jaundice, today she is playing and starring everyone. Doctor had given green signal to discharge. Thank God !!! you give us hard time to realise our strengths/weakness, to know how strong/weak the relationships are. to make us strong and relationships stronger !!!

Those 3 days of my Life

Day 1 (20th Sep 2010): Today is lazy Monday, most of us feel lazy about monday, that too after blasting weekend. I woke up around 7.30AM but experienced heavy Headache and Cold, this is not because of hangover.

Let me tell you the FLASHBACK, please read next paragraph.

"I was sick since from 1 month, I often get attacked with Cold(runny nose) due to my allergic nose, fever and cough will be followed by cold for sure and these stays 4-5 days max in my body. But this time these stayed longer and not ready to leave me. I consulted one doctor(Dr.ABC), he is nearby to my flat. I wasted 2 weeks and fews bucks in his treatment, he didn't reduced my sickness even 0.1 percent. Later I consulted another doctor(Dr.XYZ), he prescribed some antibiotics and paracetamol tablets, I felt easiness next day, but the story came to same track."

FLASHBACK ends here. Please continue with next paragraph.

I decided to visit Dr.XYZ's clinic again today, so took leave and stepped towards clinic. But Dr.XYZ wasn't there in his Clinic, his assistant doctor Dr.AUNTY was there and she was eagerly waiting for patients to come. She had a look at last prescription and did routine checkup. With a surpised expression she said "You still having Cold and headache? you took antibiotics for 5 days right? Your cold should have gone after taking antibiotics for 5 days !!. Something is wrong. You start taking SWINE FLU tablets from today, I am sure you are not having Swine Flu, but to be safer side better to take those, I will also prescribe medicine from my side, you take both.". And she gave me the address where I get swine flu tablets, that was a Govt hospital. I was shocked and collapsed after hearing the word swine Flu. I controlled myself and stepped towards Govt hospital, no need to give much explaination about this hospital, that was a typical Indian Govt hospital. Anyways I got Swine flu tablets(FluHalt) and returned home. I usually keep doors open when I am at home, neighbour's children used to come and play computer games. I fraid children too get infected to swine flu if they get in contact with me, so closed the doors. Swallowed Dr.AUNTY's and DR.GOVT's tablets as per dosage and jumped to bed.

Day 2 (21st Sep 2010): I didn't see any effect of tablets, I am still not finding easiness. I started to afraid, hit the Google and started searching the stuff related to Swine Flu. I compared my sickness with symptoms of Swine Flu, read about infection cycle, prevention, screening centres, testing centres, cost of testing, treatment etc etc etc... Fuck off man !!! I dont want to die at this age, parents, family, homeloan and morever I will be becoming DAD this december...... damn !!! I have so many commitments. I am alone in home, wife is in her mom's home. My brother and my mom supposed to come today, but I asked them not to come as I afraid they too get infected. I was tensed, may be because of this I got high fever at night, I thought my life ends at this night and started writing down my account details, login details, ATM pin, insurance details in a note book and kept beside my pillow. I decided if Im alive till morning then first thing to do is to rush to Ruby Hall Clinic. I took paracetamol tablet and went to sleep.

Day 3 (22nd Sep 2010): Huh !!! I am alive !!.... Thank God and thanks to paracetamol, my fever went down. Next target is Ruby Hall Clinic, stepped into hospital premises, huge hospital, wondering where to go, finally found reception and enquired about swine flu testing, they said here they won't do testing, they only do screening, but i wanted to get tested by submitting throat swab. I was disappointed but thought of undergoin screening. Those doin swine flu screening are Freshers they themselves confused with swine symptoms and they confused what to do with my case. One those said "Arrey Cat-B likhake Poly-OPD ke paas bhej dena, vo doctor dekhlega". I took the slip and went to Poly-OPD, they referred me to Cardiac-OPD, I payed the fees and waited for my turn(We have to pay fees first). After waiting for 1.30 hrs I got a chance to make entry in doctor's room, Dr.Castellino, she is not as beatifull as Aishwarya Rai, but her charming and smiling face makes her impressive. Her way of handling patients was impressive. She did the checkup and referred me to ENT specialist and also asked me to get blood-urine tested. I submitted blood-urine for testing and went to meet ENT specialist, Dr.Morarji. He did the checkup and prescribed the tablets. I collected blood-urine test report and went back to Dr.Castellin's room. After seeing the report she confirmed that I am not having viral infection, its a bacterial infection. She asked to take the tablets what Dr.Morarji prescribed. And thats it !!!! Came out of hospital, went to home happily around 2PM. Took the tablets and jumped to bed, woke up at 6PM, OMG!!! I am feeling better. Headache gone by taking only dose !!! I opened the doors and immediately neighbour's children entered my home, I kissed them with a JOY !!! Thanks to Ruby Hall and thank you for reading this blog !!!
